Main Bearing ?

Car: 1987 Camaro
Engine: 3.4 Liter
Transmission: 5 speed
Axle/Gears: stock
Main Bearing ?
I was told there were 2 different sets of main bearings for the 2.8 late model (87) engines. One set with a single hole and a 2nd set with 2 holes. My question is besides lookin at them when replacing them, how can you tell which set you need?
