hi im new to this but i just got my firebird yesterday so im new owner and i have a 2.8 liter v6 1987 firebird, the problem is that the car has trouble searching for gears and i have to push it in to change i have an auto transmission, i have searched everywhere to see if n e one has dis problem and i have tried to fix the tv cable and it didnt work im thinking bout taking it to a mechanic and have him see da problem i want to see if n e one had this problem and plx give me advice thank u!

Start off by changing oil in the gearbox, going to a mechanic with an undefined gearboxproblem can be expensive.
