What's everyones idle set at?

I was kinda curious. I'm trying to get mine to a minimum setting without stalling out the engine. I know it will vary between cars because of location in different ares (climate,altitude...etc.). Mine is currently set at 1000 rpms. Is there even a set idle for these V6s?

no there is no provision from the factory on these cars to set idle. If all your sensors are working, no vack leaks, good IAC, and all the other stuff is working correctly they will idle at 500 or so for a auto( mine is at 550-600) and 600 or so for a manual.

The idle on 9 out of 10 cars is 500-750rpm. 1000 seems a bit high but I would'nt worry too much.
Naturally, this only applies when the engine is at its working temperature.

Some tuned japcars seem to have an idle of 2000rpm or so but I don't think that's good for the engine.

If it has'nt changed since I last checked it, my timing was set at factory 10*. If there is a vac leak, I can't find it. I'm gonna get some carb cleaner and work from front-to-back and top-to-bottom to be more thorough in finding one if any. I'm not getting any codes so thats good at least.
