Telling the difference.
I was looking at pictures at both the 2.8L V6's and the 3.1L V6's. Pardon my noobness, but is there an easy to way to check to see which of the two you have?

The intake on a 2.8 has a round logo in the center that sayse 2.8l multiport fi .. or something close to that. 3.1 has nothing..
Someone might have swapped it I suppose. 3.1L (and 3.4L) cranks have 3.1L stamped on them. I'd imagine 2.8L has a 2.8L.

if its th eoriginal lengine in the car u can go by years
84-89 = 2.8
90-92 = 3.1
if u need to identify a engine that does not have an intake on it,u can remove the oil pan.and the 3.1 has 3.1 stamped right on the crankshaft.
