N00b - > Coolant Leak!

Please forgive the N00b question... but there is a "device" (standing in front of the engine bay looking in), on the left side next to the valve cover in which the coolant hoses feed into a plastic fitting. This fitting has broken off spewing coolant everywhere. Without being more specific than that, and looking for a camera... Does anyone happen to know what this is so I can tell the auto store what I need?

Much appreciated!

u sir need a new heater control valve
though u dont need to replace it u can bypass it if u like, the only down side is if u bypass it u will always have coolant running threw the heater core.alls that valve does is let coolant flow into the heater core when u turn the heat on.haveing coolant running threw it at all times wont hurt anything

Thank you very much. I appreciate the quick response.

Even so, it's just as well to replace it. From what I can tell, it's only $20.00 at the local autopart store. Hopefully it's not too much trouble to replace.
