What the ____ did I do??

My'92 V6 has had a bulb out behind the tach guage so I decided to finally replace it yesterday. All I did after that was park it in the garage. Now today, it wakes up with a real bad idle problem. Is there something I could have screwed up? I wouldn't think so. Maybe just a real big coincidence. It's had a very slight rough idle problem for about a year just while it's in drive. But now, when I'm slowing down for a red light when I get below 15mph, it's all it can do to stay running. It'll drop to about 700rpm and jump back up to about 1100 and back down really fast. Whill I'm just sitting there it seems run ok. Just slowing down is the problem. It takes off fine and runs perfect other than that. No engine light. Allthough, my engine light does come on periodically but hasn't in about a month or 2. It's says low voltage at the fuel pump. And when it does come on, I'll have to crank and crank to get it to start. Don't know if this problem is related or not. But all I did yesterday was unhook the battery and take apart the dash. Could it be the battery? Seems like it doesn't have the juice it used to when I start it. Or idle or intake sensors? I'm working on 188k miles on it.

When you unhooked the battery you probably reset the ECM. Now your engine has to go through a re-learning period. After that the problem should fix itself.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Is it a 3.1?

I hate to even say it as it changes all the time but I have seen thread where you have to do the idle relearn on the 3.1 and some say its bunk.

Either way there is something about the 3.1s that is different and there is a process to relearn the idle.
