Ok, i was telling my friend about the smog pump and how i couldnt put headers on with the smog pump. he said just to beat it and make a dent so the header can fit in. cause if it breaks it, when they inspect it, it will still be there. how much clearance is needed? Also the timing chain for a 2.8 will work for the 3.1 right?

 

It doesn't matter if you still have the Smog Pump there because it's still a failure if you use the pacesetter headers on a 3.1 because they aren't approved for that engine, only for the 2.8
