Everyday drivers...
Just wondering how many of you use your Firebird (or Camaro) as an everyday driver?
I do, and I've been itching to get a little project going with my car but the problem is that it's my go to work, pick up the younger sister, etc... car.
Pretty much when I want to spend a few hours on something it's got to be on the weekend but I also work from 4ish to 10:30ish on saturdays. Pretty much the most work I can to my car in one sitting needs to happen in 6 hours max.
To get this long thing over with, what kinds of projects/mods/improvements have you daily drivers done to your car to have some more fun in it/more performance.
An intake is all I've done so far, plus all the basic maintenance. That stuffs all up to date. I want to try the whole TB coolant bypass thing, though I doubt it makes much difference....
Suggestions?

The TB coolant bypass will be very barely noticeable in the seat of your pants - meter. Maybe 1 or 2 HP on a dyno.
I use my car as a DD too.

Mine's daily driven. It's hard to mod your DD, trust me i've been trying to turbo mine, but there are some things you can do. If you bought a cat-back exhaust you could install that in a few hours. You could advance your timing a little...that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

You can do almost anything in under six hours. I have done an almost complete suspension rebuild replacing one or two parts at once, usually only 2-3 hours per part.
My longest project yet was my motor swap and that only took like 4 hours, And i dont have special tools either.

ooorrr....you can get a rusty old bucket for cheap, no a/c, rotten fenders, stained interior etc etc... for cheap, transfer registration, and drive that around while you fix up your bird. Gotta be one of those beat up things that runs a long time though...like an old camry or Corolla....you don't want to be putting money into it when the money could be going to the bird.
Well, I haven't done too much yet to the daily-driver-for-now v6 besides just general maintenance. I'd like to get sub-frame connectors cause they helped quite a bit on my v8. Put aside one whole day with a friend who can weld for the sfc's. I'd also like to get at least stainless steel brakelines but I have no clue how long that would take, I wouldn't imagine too long.

I daily drive my 2.8L firebird. It used to be my only car. I did the suspension rebuild, lots of maintinence, a CAI, some weight reduction, interior work.
as far as power mods go, the headers on my GTA could have been done in one day for sure if i had one helper the whole time, and all the parts ready. if you plan to do that have header bolts and a new set of cut to fit plug wires ready to go.
same deal with catback if you have access to a welder.
rear end swap also if you have done one before and have a helper.
take a weekend off and you can do a swap to a stick shift tranny. might be able to get it in one if you have done it before.
unfortunatly since i am guessing you are like me and this is your first car that you have modded everything you do will be a learning experiance. you may have to request some time off in order to have two days in which to do some of these projects. also enlisting help from local car buddies is always a good idea. my friends in CascadeCrew (local chapter of TGO) help me out alot.
