backfire

I have a 86 v6 camaro and I have a glasspack on it had it on for about i dont know a few months now. usually before when i started my car up and drove it, the first time i got past 3,000 rpm and shifter it would back fire once just once though. now starting about a week or 2 ago its been back fireing a lot only when the car is cold once It back fires a few times it stops and wont do it again till i let it sit and start it back up again. it only does it when i let the it go to 3,000 rpms to shift. I had a code 32 i think were the egr is messed up and notice a crack where the vacum goes into the egr salenoid i taped it up for a quick fix till I get the money to buy another one. but do you think that is the problem with why it is back fireing or do you think its something else? also the timeing is set 14 maybe 15 advanced, but i have turned it back to 10 witch is stock and it still did it, please can anyone shine some light on this for me. thanks.

Re: backfire

When you replaced the exhaust did you do anything to your catalytic converter? If you removed/gutted it that could be your problem.

no everything was done at a shop. nothing was done to the catalytic converter. but it always has really backfired once just once though. after that it would be fine. now its doing it 5,6,7 ,8 times until the motor warms up its like, then it quit. do you still think it could be the catalytic converter my car is a 86 and it is stock. also like i said I have a crack in the egr selonoid vacum line.
