Fan not working
Fan not working
Hi everyone, the heat/ac fan never worked on my car when I bought it. When I turn on either the AC, heat or vent, I hear some clicking sounds and a hissing noise for 10 seconds and thats it. No air blowing out. Even if I adjust the speed, nothing happens. Btw, its a 86 firebird with 2.8 v6. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Re: Fan not working
There is a resistor pack on the fan housing under the hood, you'll have to make sure that the pack is getting a power signal from the switch inside and make sure the fan's ground is good.
Most of the time when there's an in-op blower motor, it's the resistor pack that's gone bad, but you'll have to check before you replace it.
