You can just go to an aut parts store and piece together some piping. I would rather take it to a shop and get a pipe put in. I had a straight pipe put in place of my cat and my car sounds so much better.

Re: Test Pipe for Cat
it violates federal law for an exhaust shoppe to do this on a street car. that being said, many shoppes will still do it. realy what you aught to do is look under your car and check to see that both sides of your catalitic converter have flanges, if it does go buy some, buy some pipe, measure and cut. take pipe to shoppe and have them weld it for you (or weld it yourself if you have welder) then go home and bolt it in.
if you do not have flanges you need to find a dishonest shoppe to weld one in for you. or just keep the cat. they only affect anything if they are old or clogged. i replaced mine with a new high flow (weighed about 1/3rd as much) and did not affect sound at all. plus now i am not breaking the law. the cat cost 20$ installation with flanges on both sides was another 30ish.
