Need Help ASAP
Car will crank up after 5 or six cranks and run fine when warm. It goes to 1500 RPMs and then goes back down. Once I do this the car will crank everytime if it is warm of at least 65 degrees or more. But anything under that it will not crank no matter what. I had a tune up and replaced the dis cap rotor and button. smelt oil when i cranked it last for a few mins then it went away. what could be the problem and poss solutions. Need to know as hence the car is my daily driver

Re: Need Help ASAP
normal for me, the typical pump relay don't work in mine either.
So it default to the 2nd relay that will not let the pump prime until you have 7psi of oil pressure.
If cold it takes longer to pump the oil up and then the pump primes n fires.
If warmer it don't need it.
I perfer to keep my car this way.
That is almost how it should be.
Car shouldn't start until you have proper oil pressure n e ways.
And it works backwards too, if you go below 7psi it will kill the fuel pump.
Which could mean you just wrecked and are upside down.
Last thing ya want is for fuel to keep pumpin.
----------
If you wanna fit it, its them black relay boxes near the brake booster.
Typical auto stre will know what you want n have one on hand.
But I like it that way. No start till I got oil pressure insures my already strong running 220,000 mile engine will last till 300k

Mabe $20, just say you need the pump relay, there is only 1, just plugs in n out real easy, can't mix em up. There is also a AC relay near it but can't mix em up.

Re: Need Help ASAP
I tried to crank the car this morning with it under my car port with open air. It was 67 degrees outside and it did the same thing. Then some times it wouldn't even make it to 1000 rpms. But I let it reset and it still did the same thing after 10-15 times. But I noticed when I tried to crank it on two different occassion it sounded like the AC was coming on but I made sure I had it turned off and it came from the AC vent right above the AC controls . So what could my problem be
----------
sry but I have never worked on the motor changin switches and stuff where is the brake booster is it near the firewall?
I keep on the gas for a little bit and it catches what could be the problem
