You left the lines? Just in case you want AC back, I assume? I just ripped out my heaterbox and put in a AC delete box two nights ago. Ripped out all the lines and the radiator a week before that. I still have the compressor on, just so I have a pulley there until I get a delete pulley(belt routing different won't work without moving the PS pump upwards on a new bracket). Here's mine.

Why not use the non-A/C belt and skip that pulley all together?

Nah...I have'nt had time to take the lines off yet. That's my plan tomorrow. The condenser and evaporator are next then an a/c delte box. GEES...the a/c compressor is HEAVY!!!

Well? I'm just curios to the decision of the delete pulley?

Will that work on the 3.1s? Definitely won't work on the 2.8s, if they came equipped with AC; the PS pump is moved down to make room for the AC compressor. On AC delete 2.8s, the pump sits higher up and allows the usage of a shorter belt without hitting the water pump. I tried every belt I could to get it to work without a pulley on mine. If you 3.1 folks can do it, though, awesome for you guys!

I know! I wasn't expecting so much weight and about crushed my hand when I undid the last bolt!

Even if you reverse the crank and pupmp pulleys? This is how I deleted my smog...

thats what I was thinking too.

I guess for those who lives up north wants to take a few pound off the car?
if ur objective is to lighten the load on the belt.. bypassing it is just the best way IMO.

I have no intention of offending your decision.. but Im curious as well.

Re: Finally...A/C delete with pic

there was something like this posted before, a member had tried it and the belt would rub any way he tried it. he ended up having to get the delete pulley.

And I'd be another one backing that up. Routing #1 in firstfirebird's post just doesn't work without adjusting the PS stump. The belt basically comes horizontal from the PS pump across the water pump and rubs no matter what kind of belt you're using.

Didn't try that. Might be worth looking into just to get a good answer?

Re: Finally...A/C delete with pic

if youre referring to coming off the alternator to the waterpump first, instead of going to the crank and then the waterpump, then down to the crank and up to the p/s, it still shouldnt work because the clearance from the belt running across the waterpump and the belt coming across the p/s pump to the alternator is still the same, not enough. correct me if im wrong on what you mean.

Re: Finally...A/C delete with pic

will not work in a 2.8 with factory ac and even a brand new tensioner, just tested it, had about MAYBE 1/8" clearance, which would not fly when you step on it, especially with a less than new tensioner.

Actually, I just visualized it from your description.
