Found a missing bolt and need size on it soon.

I found the likely cause of the bad vibrations arond the PS pump. I completely forgot that this bolt is there as you cannot see it. It is the bolt that attaches the bracket to the block . The bracket kind of angles down and goes lower on the engine to where you cannot see the bolt at all. I believe that mine vibrated out. I can feel the hole but not the bolt. Can someone give me the size, length, and thread on the bolt so that I can go buy a new one at Lows or Home Depot tommorrow.

Re: Found a missing bolt and need size on it soon.

I don't know the thread-pitch on that bolt but I do know it's a 13mm or 1/2 in. head by one inch long bolt. I didn't pay attention to whether it was a standard or metric bolt when I had it out last week but I know I used a 13mm socket on it (be prepared to bust out the 1/4 inch drive set, it's tucked against the clamshell for the motor mount pretty well).

A 13mm will also snugly fit a 1/2 in though, so it may be 1/2 in. Most american cars still use SAE size bolts when threaded to the block.

you can go to your local dealer and pay a couple of bucks for that exact bolt replacement, that's what i did for a few of my odd-ball bolts

I figured that it was around that size. I am going to go to the junkyard tommorrow to see if there is one in one of their F-bodies. There are plenty of cars there, but just in case I may need to go to the hardware store.
