Carbed v8 air cleaner to a v6 carb

I have a chance to buy a 84 dual air cleaner off a 5.0, will this go onto a carbed 2.8? Please help.

Re: Carbed v8 air cleaner to a v6 carb

I tried to put one on my '84. It is bigger than the stock one and will not clear the distrubter. Also the stock cleaner bottom is square (2 barrel) where it mets the carb and the V8 is set up for a 4 barrel which is round.
On the other hand if the dual cleaner is complete and you are planning on swaping in a V8 go for it b/c they are getting hard to find.
