Firechicken starting issues, tendancy to die
Firechicken starting issues, tendancy to die
I had trouble getting it to start. I was told it needed a new distributor from the get go. Sure enough one day when I went to start her she died. So I got new distributor and rotor. Fired up and ran great for about a day went all over the place. Near the end of the day I could smell a gas smell from the car.
Went to start it the next day. F#ck all. Then I gave it a bit of gas while cranking and it started. Drove it around for a while. Went to for another drive later. Wouldn't start. Gave it a bit of gas, worked.... for a few seconds then crapped out in the middle of the street.
Same thing when I tried it out today. Won't go for more then a block before crapping out. I'm thinking because of the gas smell it needs new fuel lines. Well that and I read about a similar problem in the carbed section.
Any other ideas or suggests I'd like to hear 'em.
Thanks.

Re: Firechicken starting issues, tendancy to die
check the fuel lines and make sure they are tight into the fuel block on the fuel rail. then check the injectors and see if they are in all the way or leaking. chekc your fuel pressure. and then try checking your timming.
