Re: selling the camaro

Ahhh, you got the 114LSA cam, the one I sold Dave is the 111.9.

Why not just fix it?! You spent all the money and effort, and now you are going to give up? A crank can cost you as little as $65 (Mitzel Engines, FL) for a re-grind and ARE has rods for $16 each. Bearings are $15/set for the rods and $35 for the mains (Sealed Power).

Pull the engine and throw a crank in it.

Did it detonate causing the spin, or was it the suspected oil pump?

One more: What rod? Mine was #4.

I don't need a over bored motor. I'm just trying to get one together that I don't have to worry about every single little noise. I'm jumping on these cause thet're here. Not to mention that I just missed work all of last week due to a stomach virus, I don't need to spend more money.

Actually, I am going to pull it regardless since it is doing me no good in the car at the moment. Finaly got a chery picker again, so a lot more good deals will be comming this way.

I'll have to pass on the heads. Getting my car fixed is going to cost me more than I thought. I will take the distributor w/ the cap.

Re: selling the camaro

My PS bracket snapped in half. Thankfully nothing under the hood was hurt other than the bracket. I was even able to go back and find my belt that flew off down the road, lol. I was only running the front bracket and not the rear one because the stud that hold the rear bracket to the head snapped. Some of the other bolts had become loose and started vibrating the pump real badly. Now I have to pull my head and take it to a machine shop to get the stud replaced so I can put on the other bracket. Now the car is at a friend's house no where near my house.
