i got a 91 t5 3.1L of course and over the past few days ive had some major problems. they popped up all of the sudden.

my car ran fine to the insurance place(3 mi. trip). got some paperwork and went to leave. turned the key and "clink" was all i got. i was thinking starter. got some buddies to tow the car home and bought a new starter. installed it, turned the key. got "clink". brand new starter. i was like wtf. ended up playing around w/ the ignition and when i turn the key about half way as far as it goes and "on". then it'll start.

when i get my car started it barely holds idle. sometimes i gotta keep my foot on the gas for awhile. the car stalls when ever i come to almost a complete stop. stalls out at all stop signs and lights.

started to see a little bit of black smoke when i floor it.

got dark black smoke coming out the exhaust at even idle. now the car stalls when im cruising down the road at 30-40mph. i gotta pop the clutch real fast to get it started cause its a bitch to turn w/o power steering.

i have a REALLY bad bog/hesitation started today. every gear. when i floor it its like it bogs quite a few times before it gets going.


what could this possibly be? its my daily diriver so need help asap

 

interesting check out all the usual things such as spark,fuel,your sensors stuffy like that it could be anything,my car did that for a while and i ended up replacing my whole ignition system idk that was when i did not know anything about car and pep boys said thats what was wrong with it,ps dont take it to any shop they lie alot and overcharge

 

yea tell me about it. i was gonna take it to tuffys for a "free estimate" and they tell you whats wrong with it. my buddy has gone there for his ac and told him exactly what he needed for free.....well i walk in and they tell me it was gonna be $20. lol i didn't have it on me so i left

with the smoke at idle, the first thing i would check is the fuel pressure regulator. pull the vacuum hose off of it & see if the regulator is leaking.
if you don't see any signs of it leaking, check the fuel pressure.

ha i drove it today from a parking spot to pump 5 stalled out 3 times lol gotta fix this asap plz help doin a tune up 2morrow to see if its that
