Injector ???
Okay, the car is at my school, sitting in the Engine Performance bay, waiting for parts. So far, they have taken apart plenty of stuff they really didn't need to (fuel lines, lower plenum and intake, etc), breaking some stuff in the process (my 2 DAY OLD plug wires), killing my fuel-line o-rings, and the ones I had on the cold start tube (rail end). So, I get stuck replacing the o-rings, and the gaskets they didn't even need to touch, all to figure out that two of my injectors aren't working right (DUH! I ALREADY KNEW THAT!).
To make a long story short, a guy that has an 86 TA that is converting over from TPI to carb gave me the remainder of his fuel injectors. The car is a 305. Will the injectors work on my engine? And yes, I will be replacing all 6 at the same time. Keep in mind that I am running on a 2.8 PROM... I have already been told by the instructor of that class that they won' work, but with the rest I have seen that they have done, he's full of
.
I can't get some of the parts until at least Monday, when they show up (coming from out of state), so I can't do anything with the car until then.

Re: Injector ???
easiest thing to do is hit up autozone/oreillys (autozone.com and oreillyautoparts.com or oreillyauto.com i can't remember which) and check to see if the #'s match for the 2 types of injectors.

Re: Injector ???
You might get them to work but they will make you run rich. Go to a local JY and get a set for cheap from a 2.8/3.1.

Re: Injector ???
They will physically fit. However, your 2.8 has low end 15lb injectors, where I think a 305 is 17 or 19??
You will run very rich and need a custom tune to correct it.

Re: Injector ???
Anyways, Advanced lists the low end 305 injectors at 19#, and the low end 3.1 injectors at 17# (not quite sure on the 3.1 injectors but I'll keep looking). I might still have a couple at home somewhere (375 miles from here) that I originally pulled from the 3.1 when I put the set in I have now.

Re: Injector ???
Okay, since nobody is answering that one, riddle me this:
Is there a way to clean my two clogged injectors without having my car be down for the next month while the two bad ones are at some shop out in CA or wherever, and without spending a couple hundred $$$? If so, how?
BTW, #1 and 3 are the clogged ones...

local shop might be able to clean your injectors, you could just go to a JY and get two cheap ones.

Re: Injector ???
on a stock 2.8 computer with a MAF sensor the factory tune is very lean (BLM's 150-153) for the stock injectors. I found that with 19pph injectors with the stock 2.8 maf tune, it will run perfectly with BLM's right at 128. I'd give them a try without hesitation (as long as the 19pph injectors are known to be good).

Re: Injector ???
ops, sorry about 3.1. I read 2.8
3.1's are to have high end 15lb.
3.4's have 17lbs.
Ive ran all the way from 14lb to 19lb in a modded 3.1. 19 ran rich at idle(no code), but had more top end.
There is a formula to calculate it all out, but Ive forgot it. Ive posted it before on here if you are up for a search.

Re: Injector ???
injector cleaner... just hit up walmart and have them do an "injector cleaner" for 20$. they basically put it through your brake booster.
Re: Injector ???
I ran 24# Denso's in my car with a stock tune and lowered fuel pressure, it ran the same times at the track as when I had the stock injectors in it (after a few passes to get the FP right).

Re: Injector ???
I'll have to try dropping the bigger injectors in when I get the car back. Right now, I just need to wait for the TB gasket set and the fuel line seals to come in.
BTW, a little bit off of my topic, but, I can get the fuel line seals easily, but does anyone have any idea what size or part number I need for the cold-start injector tube (the fuel rail end) o-ring? The guys in the other department didn't like my two small/two large o-ring setup (THAT WORKED FOR TWO YEARS!!!). I have to pick up the TB gasket set on Monday and would like to get all the rest of the crap at the same time. I have a fuel rail seal set coming in the mail, but that's not going to be here for another couple of days AFTER the TB gaskets come in, and I need my car bad!

I thought it was proof enough saying that I had found it to work [on my brother's car].
