86 Camaro 2.8 Engine Identification

Hello all

I've recently aquired an 86 Camaro that has the 2.8 MPI I believe it is and was wondering which company made the 2.8 motor in general for camaro's. I'm accustomed more to V8's but rarely come into contact with V6's so after looking at this one it kind of stumped me with the strange front end designs of the motor. Not the typical water pump setup like used on Chevy V8's etc. So if anyone could help me put a name to this puppy whether it be pontiac, chevy, etc it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for any info
Kaycee

GM, it's a corporate engine. Meaning there wasn't one division that desisgned or used it. Went into many vehicles in just about every division of GM.
