Serpentine belts gettin' eatin' up!

In the past 3 months, I have put on 2 serpentine belts. Something is ripping them to shreds. I've looked to see if anything is rubbing on them like hose clamps or the such...did'nt see anything. The only thing I can figure out is when I put on the A/C delete pulley. Seems I never had the problem until I put that on. I noticed a slight wobble in it and put a washer in it to take out any play. The only thing it seemed to do was push the pulley out a little. Seemed like it did'nt line up with the rest of the pulleys from a side view. Has anyone had this problem? I might bypass that pulley too and get like a 84" or 85" belt and go from the tensioner pulley straight to the PS pump. I'm afraid it might rub as it goes over the water pump or at least slap together. Any thoughts?

read your own post . alignment is very important . if one pulley is out of alignment with the others = chewed up belt . simple as that .
