Coolant leak... Help!!

Today I put all new coolant lines and thermo on the maro. When I plugged the TB coolant adapterback in, I used the rubber O ring and it snapped back in good. The o ring looked good. I'm getting a small but steady drip from the adapter. What can I do abot this? Is there a bypass I could do? Someway to seal that off? I bypassed the TB coolant lines long ago, so I don't really need the adapter anymore, other than whereever it runs to toward the passenger side. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

You're not making sense. You bypassed the tb coolant lines but the tb adapter is leaking? The one on the bottom of the tb or the one in the coolant line?

Re: Coolant leak... Help!!

the metal adapter that plugs into the engine using an o-ring and a plastic snap. In plugs in under the TB and in front of the thermostat bell housing. It had some grimey *** stop leak caked in it when I pulled it out, so I assumed someone had installed the rubber o-ring wrong. I coated it in some RTV and installed it right when I was done with the coolant lines. From the look of it, nobody ever loved this car. From the area where the adapter plugs into the engine I'm getting a steady drip while the car is running. Should I saddle a hose over it? JB weld it? I was thinking of pulling it, gorilla glueing it, and then using the jb weld meant for fuel lines as obviously it can't be dissolved with a solvent. Before I try any drastic measures, have you guys ever had problems with this? Should I try and buy a new plastic snap first? The old one seems pretty baked. LMK if you're still not clear and I'll take pics.

Are you talking about these lines?

Pictures would be nice...

Edit: Oh wait, re-read your posts and I figured out what you're talking about...it all makes sense now.

I've never taken mine out as it's never given me any problems and I don't want it to....so, can't really help ya there.

Re: Coolant leak... Help!!

I took mine out when I replaced the heater valve that sits over on the passenger side of the engine and broke the plastic quick-disconnect. I replaced it and put mine back in with the o-ring and I have a small leak just like what you're talking about. I don't know what to do about it myself and I don't now if bypassing it would have any adverse affects or not. I know the other end goes to the heater valve but I'm really not sure if it has a purpose other than getting coolant to the TB. I "think" that line connects into the thermostat area of the intake. If you are able to figure something out, let me know because I'm interested to know as well.
