I have a spare 3" single exit Flowmaster 40 series. How you think the 3.1L would sound breathing through this?

Id tuck up the exit pipe so you cant see it. Only reason I ask (I have the 88 Formula, so its not for performance) The stock muffler is coming apart inside (sometimes rattles) baffles are shot, so I was going to swap it for the FM

Get an 80 series Flomaster with a 2" pipe going back from the cat. Install the large 3.5" exhaust tips on the muffler. The larger tips allow for the sound to resonate over a longer wavelength, meaning deeper, low frequency sound.
Mine sounded great that way.

i disagree sounds horrible, i've heard good things from dynomax and magnaflow out our V6s. my 2.5" w/ flowmaster 80s sounds horrible at WOT. Even with a cat I still think it will sound bad still
