stuck PCV ?
stuck PCV ?
the car was just in the shop for some much needed work
and i just found out they didn't change the pcv valve b/c they said the old 1 was stuck and they didn't want to break anything
so how i searched and they are supposed to just pop in and out so then why is this one stuck????
how much force can i use with out having to worry about causing any real damage LOL

yes they should, but with old cars and how the rubber gets oil soaked, they can get kinda stuck. the rubber grommet will swell around the valve and it can be pretty tough to get out. I had this issue with mine a couple of years back. Using a lot of caution, i was able to get it out and a new one in. you can do it yourself. the basic idea is just pull the old one out of the grommet, and off the hose, push the new one in. Ideally, they should take 20 seconds to replace. because everything is old, brittle and swollen, it may not be that easy.

a P.C.V. valve can get gummed with age . when it does , not a good thing . you can change them and old rubber valve cover gromments . just pop them out ( don't drop stuff inside valve covers ) . new gromments , p.v.c. valve , new hose , 1hr. , less than 20 bux . then a 6 pk. .
