Doesn't want to start! 1989 2.8 5 spd.

Hey guys, more car troubles, like usual.. Anyways, I just changed my heater core, so I was flushing the system (The hillbilly Canadian way) by sticking a hose in the rad, and running it for a while. Then I drained out all of the water, mixed some 50/50 coolant and water, and finished reassembling the dash. An hour later, went to start it up, it just cranked over, it stunk of unburnt gas. After about 10 seconds of cranking it started up.
It needs new manifolds, I know this but that shouldn't cause it to not start. I have changed the coil, cap, rotor, wires, AC Delco plugs, and it has 180 PSi in every cylinder. What could be up?

Possibility, but even after not starting it for 3 days it did this.

maybe it needs a new battery or alternator. if you installed new ignition stuff it could be pulling more amps than an old battery can put out when trying to start. yet it doesn't have to be a dead enough battery to have a clicking starter solinoid. my cavalier did that to me. 1 new battery later and it runs better than when i bought it. just a possibility though.

Hmmm.. This would make sense. When I built my batterybox a while ago we tested the battery and had 12.8 volts, but we didn't do a load test. That's probably why when I have my car on run (Not running) It only read 9 volts on the voltmeter, but when running it's in the range of 13.5->14.8
