filter on the other side??

I had a guy ask me if the v6 motor from a camaro will fit in his firebird. now i told him it should because they were the same motor. and he told me that he was told that the oil filter was on the other side on the firebirds. am i wrong or is the guy who told him that wrong. i would think that they would be the same motor. since they are the same frame and drivetrain. so if you could give me some input as to who is right and who is wrong. hes waiting on my input. thank you guys.

Re: filter on the other side??

They ARE the exact same engine. Your friend should tell that other guy to stop feeding people .
Heck, the oil filter is in the same position on FWD engines.
