Hi All ! ! !

I found a place that would supply, rebuild, port & polish a set of 3.1l camaro heads for $800. Im boosting my v6 and Im trying to squeeze every hp possible out of it. Anyone know what kinda gains I can roughly expect from such a pricey upgrade?

 

The aluminum heads are much better but those require alot more work to fit than ported iron heads. You wil notice a power gain probably, not sure how much, depends on how much they are ported and how they did it. $800 aint bad considering they are rebuilding them too.

 

I doubt the improvement would be noticable enough to be worth the money and trouble. I had a set of heads that had been fully reworked, ported, polished, probably extrude honed to match the intake manifold. They looked good but they didn't make the Fiero they came off of much faster. I sold them off to another Fiero guy, along with a new 3.1 rotating assembly, 1.5 crane gold rockers, windage tray, etc for far less then $800.
