Tach dont work

Transmission: 700-R4
Axle/Gears: pos track
Tach dont work
Well my tachometer dont work since i got my car i the needle is all the way like if its redlining all the time but sometimes wen i turn off the car the needle goes back to place and then when i turn on the car again the needle goes back to readling, lol crazy needle right so can someone help me to fix my problem.
