V6 Suspension Tokico Vs. AGX
V6 Suspension Tokico Vs. AGX
The package deals on ebay are too good to pass up.
I need full suspension, springs and all.
I am considering Tokico Illuminas, Tokico HP blue, and KYB AGX shocks.struts.
I Could buy them with springs (the tokicos come wiht 1" drop tokico springs)
or I could get separate springs.
This auction Specifically
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOKIC...spagenameZWD1V
Has any one used these on a V6 before? The auction says it will work on
v8 or v6, but from my exp. front springs would/should be different b/c of weight.
What are you r recomendations... koni's are a little more than what I want to pay, and the illuminas/agx seems pretty nice.
As a shock, is the tokico HP on par with the other two? or is it more
like a GR2 / sensatrac? ( i know it isnt adjustable)
Should I buy a spring/strut package, or go for stock spec springs
(like moog) I dont want to drop any more than 1 inch.
I also am throwing IROC front /rear swaybars and front wonderbar on the car.
I am looking for a handling monster with decent ride comfort
any recomendations?
Thank you

You got to search around the interweb. I found Tokico Illuminas (front/rear) for $221 and V8 springs for $220. Thats $441 compaired to $529. But I doubt that the difference between the V8 and the V6 is .2 inch.
The only spring for the V6 that I remember was made by DropZone...but I cant find what part number it was.
I have Sensatrac shocks/stuts on my car...and they have been great for me.
And the only people, that I can remember, that sold V6 springs were DropZone...But I cant find what part number it was. So I dont know if they still sell them.
Re: V6 Suspension Tokico Vs. AGX
That seems like a lot to spend on springs that appear to be advertised as one size fits all. GM went so far as to use different springs on the left/right sides in some of our cars, and the same springs were NEVER shared between the V6 and the V8. Stock replacement shocks and struts with the sway bars and wonderbar will handle pretty nice. I would classify high dollar shocks and struts as a waste of money.

I would agree with Drew. I would buy stock spec shocks and use the money on the rest of the suspension. Put on bigger sway bars, wonderbar, replace all your old bushings, and upgrade some misc parts...that will give you much better handeling.
And since the springs wont work and Ive told you that you can get that combo cheaper...I would say that that auction is a waste of money.

They are more of a waste of money on just a street car. They are worth it if you do something like autox or road racing where they pay off.
