Cruise Control
Cruise Control
There's a guy on Ebay selling Cruise Control switches for $30, that are brand new. I'm told this is a $100 item at GM (I've not looked myself yet), so it seems like a good deal, but what caught my eye is that he lists it only for 82-89 camaro/firebird applications. Did they make a change in 90 or is his information incomplete? Any differences in the v6/v8 cruise control setup?

It might have to do with the digital dashboard; which apparently on Firebirds could've happened as early as '86, and came later on Camaros. Non-digital uses a cable-driven speedometer, digital uses a vss in the tailshaft of the trans to tell the speedometer how fast it's going.

Re: Cruise Control
I have an 87 and a 90, both Formula, both have factory cruise control. The 87 has a Servo Assembly, acts kinda like a plunging device with two hoses, the throttle control cable and a wired clip coming off it. The 90 has an all electronic box. It has just the cable and wired clip. Totally different setup.
