RPMs right for the speed?

I took my 3.1 out for a test drive with my laptop running TunerPro. I know that the tach is WAY off and I need to find the post on the tach gauge fix later. But, I was doing around 54 or 55 mph I looked at TunerPro and I was actually running around 1625-1650 rpms although the tach said 3100 rpms. I was wondering if the 1650 rpms at 55 mph is correct? I have stock tranny and I think its 2.13 gears. I'll have to look at the numbers in the center console to decode it.

Re: RPMs right for the speed?

Basically, what I'm using Tuner for is to check my sensors and other data while driving rather than idleing. Mainly, it was to see what my actual rpms are as compared to the tach. No in so much for tuning, but for information.
But is 1650 rpms pretty close for a speed of 55 mph? At least I know what gears i got, lol!

Re: RPMs right for the speed?

The V6 has a 3.42 rear end gear. Mine turns a little more than 2000 at 60mph.

With the automatic, he probably has a 3.23 gear, in which case the RPM would be a bit lower.
