Random Stalling issue

I've got a 91 Firebird 3.1FI. It stalls right when i try to give it some gas after i've been stopped, but its not a constant stalling issue. I've gone 2 months without it stalling then it stalls twice in a week and its confusing the hell out of me. I've replaced the distributor cap/rotor recently, and im beginning to think its either an ECM issue or fuel issue or something man. Any help?

Re: Random Stalling issue

Need some more details if you don't mind, any SES Light? any codes? does it happen when u first start up at times?, or after driving for awhile?, or is it just completely random?

Re: Random Stalling issue

My SES light comes on and off randomly ever since the rebuilt engine. I dont have a code reader so im unaware there. Its never stalled on startup, its usually after its been running for awhile and i come to a stop light then give it gas and it just dies and even then thats random. I can fire it up in 3 seconds and runs fine, thats why its confusing the hell out of me.

Re: Random Stalling issue

That really sounds like a fuel problem. Did you reroute any fuel lines near the exhaust manifold?

That's what did it on my stalling problem, would only do it when idling or just about to leave a light. Fuel Filter was a cheap and easy fix. Big difference too.

Re: Random Stalling issue

You don't need a scanner to pull the codes. Just short pins a & b on the aldl connector, turn the key to the 'on' position and write down what the ses light flashes.
