Should I Bother?

i just bought an 87 with a 2.8 . i have a posi disc rear collecting dust in the garage. my question to you fella's is does this car have enough power to make a difference or am i wasting my time? im not looking for a massive, miraculous transformation , i bought it so i can drive my favorite car and not kill my wallet on gas

Re: Should I Bother?

If your gonna own the car the rest of your life and plan on swapping the motor, i say do it. If not, you should save it. Youll want that rear for a project someday where you need the traction and stopping power. If you want to save gas and make power, try aftermarket ignition components and other things to make your motor run a little better, or make it handle better with aftermarket springs and bushings. The 2.8s usually came with OK gears anyway to help with the lack of power these engines produced.
