Afternoon Delight
Afternoon Delight
Hi friends, I spent this afternoon in a parts store back storage looking through intake gasket sets. I had asked about AIR heads on this board, and was told they would not work with the eld carb base. as far as I could tell, the gasket were the same .... I am just some jerk with an old camaro, so i could be going about this wrong. But i set the head to intake gasket over one another, and same where holes were.
So, why? or other than "caus" is it the angle of the head? I know a guy, that put this intake on a 87 and that was fi? what gives? what gasket dose AIR use?

You mean ARI. All of the iron heads are the same as far as shape. The FI heads are better as they got bigger valves and flow better than the old carb heads. The carb intake will work on the FI heads without a problem. Most of the guys who work at parts stores don't know what they are talking about, I rarely listen to anything they say.

Probably Felpro, not sure though. If you buy from them make sure that you get the iron head/intake gaskets and not the aluminum head/intake gaskets. There is a huge difference between the two.
