Terrible HP and MPG idk what to do need help
Hey i have a 92 Camaro RS automatic V6. I just recently, about a week ago got a motor swap. Its the same engine but just rebuild and whatever. so my current engine has about 200 miles on it and my "old" engine only had 90,000 miles.
So anyway i get about 11 mpg and about 150 miles to the tank or so give or take a 1 mile or two and it still seems a lil slow. I know its a v-6 and all but i drove my friends 94 v-6 and even though it has 20 more hp or so it seems ALOT faster and it was stock with 130k miles. I dont know what could be my problem, i have a homemade performance intake, i just recently got a fuel induction cleansing as well i no thats not the problem, i just don't know if it could be any sensors or injectors or what.
Can anybody help me or give me tips?

Check your timing. Symptoms of being too retarded are low power, and high fuel consumption.

I was kind of under the impression that the poor mileage and power didn't start until you did the swap. I'd still start at the timing though. Have you pulled the codes from the computer yet?

Ah, you seem to be in the same boat I was in a long time ago.
1. Just because your fuel injectors MAY be "clean" because you had a "fuel injection tune-up" doesn't mean that they are: A.clean; and B.working. If you have the money, at $12 a piece (may be more now, haven't looked in a while) you can send your fuel injectors to either Cruizin Performance or Linder Technical services to have them PROFESSIONALLY cleaned, evaluated, and otherwise taken care of.
2. Do a search for the TomP tune up, which basically involves changing ALL of the fluids, ALL of the filters, your ignition wires, plugs (you had better have ACDelco R43TSK plugs in there or you are only screwing yourself), dist cap and rotor, 02 sensor, checking your ignition timing (10* before TDC), and you might want to think about cleaning up a few other things as well, namely your EGR valve assembly.
3. Do check your vacuum lines, MAP sensor, and check your catalytic converter and muffler to see if they are clogged, which KILLS performance.
It took me a couple of years, but I went from like 5 MPG to over 30...
BTW, you can't compare your 92 to the 94. There is 20 HP between, and about, what, 500 pounds? (Someone correct me if I am wrong, and do add the TQ spec for the 3.4).
