Stock 92 3.1 moving from 3.23 gears to 3.73's. What can I expect?

I'm planning on upping the gearing in my car from stocker 3.23's to a set of 3.73's. What can I expect? I realize I'll lose highway mileage, but I'm assuming I'll gain around town mileage, as well as the car feeling torqier around town? Will it have more get-up and go going up hills? Are 3.73's my best bet with the 3.1, or should I got steeper or smaller? I do a lot of mixed driving, but most of it is around town, and hilly country roads. Just looking for a way to make this thing feel a little more torqy and fun.

PS:

Would this be the motive gear that'd work with my rear-end?

I had 3.42's in my 2.8 and wouldn't want any thing but. Also the 85's had a nice gear range in the transmission.
It will throw off your speedometer and odometer.
I believe your car has a serries 3 carrier. I know cars that had 3.08's like my Z28 have serries 2 carriers.

Thanks Dave! That's what I was thinking, I just wanted to hear it from someone else. As far as the gear set, is the one I liked the right one for the stock rear-end? I'm basically buying the gears and the install kit and tossing it off to a shop for the install. Also where could I find the right speedo gear so my speedo isn't off?

yup u need a 3 series gear set, be sure u get the install kit, and make sure u do not get ripped off on the install.and make sure u go to a reputable rear end shop. it is so easy to destroy a brand new gear set if improperly setup.

to give u an idea of what is fair my shop gets 300$'s labor only to do a rear in a car.+ parts, and make sure u get a warranty in writing, ive seen to many ppl goto a shop get gears put in and have them get told it has a warranty only to have the rear blow up 2 weeks later and the shop not warranty the work.
