water pump pulleys

i have a 3.1 originally out of a 92 camaro in my 89. it was rebuilt and put into an S10. here's my problem though: my 89 2.8 water pump pulley doesn't fit. the spacing of the bolts is too big for the 3.1. i can't find a v6 camaro at the JY let alone a 90-92 3.1 camaro. and the pulleys for the motor are for camaros and not S10s or blazers. so what should i do?

Re: water pump pulleys

Just get a whole new water pump. They aren't that expensive, and they are a piece of cake to change. Here's one: 1992 Camaro 3.1L V-6 Water Pump

Re: water pump pulleys

Which water pump do you have on it?

If its in an s10, you need an s10 pump and pully so you can bolt the fan to it....... unless you went electric.

But if you just need a pully, go in the parts section. I was in there today and someone was parting out a 91/92 v6 3.1 bird.

Re: water pump pulleys

On this board down below, there is a "parts wanted" and "parts forsale" section. Thats where I'm talking about.

Re: water pump pulleys

well, heres what i've figured out. i did some more research and it is an S10 water pump (****!!!), but i still have my old one along with my timing cover. so i guess i'll put it on, it looks ok, i just hope the water pump isn't the reason the old engine mixed water in the oil pan. (never seen it run, but i assume it overheated probably more than once. call it a hunch.
