Dizzy screw stripped... need advice.

Car: 1989 Firebird Formula 350
Engine: 350 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 9 Bolt Borg Warner 3.27 gears
Dizzy screw stripped... need advice.

I think part of my possible misfiring might be my dizzy cap. I noticed one screw won't tighten down. I had an older dizzy cap to see if that was the problem and that won't tighten down either. I'd hate to get another whole dizzy just because of a stripped screw or thread in the dizzy base. Any suggesstions?

These are the screws that hold the cap on correct? If so then I would try and either tap the hole or just do like I did and tapped them to accept slightly larger screws.
