I am doing a vortec 4300 swap and am trying to decide on what intake... i am leaning against the CPI because i have heard it is somewhat troublesome... i was quite curious to know if the 3800 series 2 intake would be worth the machine work to make it fit... i would like to keep fuel injection but only if the 3800 intake is worth it... if not then i will just get the edelbrock intake because that is a proven 25-30 horse gain over the CPI... 3800 intake or 4bbl? thanks for the info...

 

There is no physical parts that are interchangeable between the 4.3 and 3800's. They are completely different monsters.

Weren't you going to do a V8 swap? What happened to that plan?

 

i was gonna do a lot of things... i probably still will put a v8 in but later on down the road... i had to sell the lt1 i was gonna swap... and i got the 4300 for free... just sonnething temporary... long time temporary... until i decide what i ULTIMATELY wanna do... but if i get 260 to 270 horses i am sure i would be happy with that for a while... and this swap is cheaper because i dont have to change any suspension parts...
