C Prepaired Camaro build
C Prepaired Camaro build
I'm building my Camaro for C-P autocross I am thinking about swapping a 3.4 in with a carb and go for a nice easy power. I'm thinking about building as high compression as I can go and a huge camshaft. I'm hoping for 2-300hp I like the light weight of the V6 and the sharp turn in. the draw back is the harness is FUBAR for the EFI some backwoods engineer thought the MAF was superfluous. And then there's the fan control.

dont go carb, deff stick with the fuel injection
since the harness is shot why dont u look into a megasquirt system u can do a complete ms1 system for under 320 bucks

Sounds like a fun car. I seriously thought about doing a V6 when I built my car but instead of the 60 degree V6 I wanted to use an old NASCAR Busch series Buick or Chevy V6. I have found a few for sale that where fairly inexspensive and they where putting out 550-575 HP.
I do have one question. How much does yours weigh and what is the F/R bias?

a Busch Engine would be a piece of cake since I work at a nascar team but I really like the handling of the little V6. I have found 10+:1 pistons for the 3.4 and a huge camshaft. I really think I can get 250-300hp with a carb. I need an easy way to get some big power. I already have good handling in a car set up for the 6-60. I really don't want to add any length to the drivetrain with a 90* V6.

What NASCAR level you work on? I am a Crewcheif for a Supertruck team (Mason Britton #18)
I have an '87 Camaro V6 I extrensively built that pulled 1.07gs on street tires and 60-0 in 102ft.

I'm a chassis guy and welder for Gen3 motorsports' ARCA team. I have the car paired down as far as I can without cutting out metal. it rolled across the scales at 2500# if I recall it was under 3000#.
Vetruck Where are you located I am looking for someone with more experience than I have with these cars.

I am in So. Calif. I have most of what I did to the Camaro on that old cardomain site. I know these cars like the back of my hand. I had built that Camaro strickly to be my ex wifes daily driver (Her minivan so to speak)

I'd go with a 3.4/3500 hybrid for some easy power, at least 3400 heads. Look up Grimmcs and Firstfirebird's build threads. Those should give you some good ideas. Using these heads you'd have to build a custom intake for the carb.
