2002 Heater Problems
2002 Heater Problems
Hey Foks,
I might of signed up to the wrong message borard for help with my 2002 Camaro Sport Coupe. I have the series 2 3800 V-6. It was purchased in Arizona, moved to Florida and now to Colorado. I have never turned on the heater until now. I get luke warm air at times, but mostly cold air. It runs at 210 degrees all the time. It reaches temp normally, but never moves until cooled down. The AC works just fine. I think maybe a power flush may help. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

Re: 2002 Heater Problems
Well yeah you found the WRONG board. Your car is considered a 4th gen not a 3rd gen. However your question is a fairly universal problem. I would try changing your thermostat. That could cause your problem. Personally I don't drive my car much in the cold weather so I just pulled mine out all together but it is far from the best option. Good luck.

Re: 2002 Heater Problems
If your car is equipped with one (I'm not familiar with the 2002), it sounds like the heater bypass valve has failed. It's a vacuum operated valve on the heater hose which diverts water away from the heater core when you're not using the heat.
