just a simple question...

can i use a stock 2.8 flywheel behind a 3.4l without problem, or will it be balanced or something differently? if not could i put a 2.8l clutch on the 3.4l flywheel?
just asking because i can get one for 150, a good running one, and why not you know, its got more power and torque, plus im getting dynomax cat back with no cats... if anyone wonders why? its only 30 more horse or something... just know, it would cost more to fix everything wrong with my 2.8l than putting in this one, and i am DEFINATELY shure it wont last as long as it will take to build my small block...
thanks in advance!

If your 2.8 is post-1986, then you will be fine. Pre-86 has balancing weight on the flywheel, after that GM internally balanced them.

Re: just a simple question...

2.8 intake is better. The LIM are the same between the two, so just swap the middle and upper.

I thought I had heard once that the 3.4 UIM is had worse flow than the 2.8/3.1...but I dont think that many have tested it. I think it was something about how the intake gets skinnier near the back, and the back runner/s not getting equal air...but like I said, Im not 100%.

Although even if Im wrong, I doubt that the increase would be noticeable.

Found this...

Re: just a simple question...

i will do it and see. plus... the 2.8l intake is prettier...haha... it will be stock minus headers cat back and no cat... either way it will definately be better and more reliable than my 2.8... its about to go... and this one i got only has 80xxx miles on it...
