Re: COLD AIR INTAKE FOR A 2.8L
Your best bet, having a Firebird, is to make one yourself out of PVC pipes or some metal pipe. But the only true cold air intake, that I am aware of, for the Firebird is the Ram-Air hood/intake box...which is a bit pricey for such a little gain.
Do a search for "cold air intake" or "CAI"....There are A LOT of people that have asked this same question.

c'mon man just get creative...
all you wanna do is use some kinda piping from your throttle body to extend to where the stock air box was that flows better...
you could PVC, which is rather unattractive, but effective. Dryer ducting can also work if you use the right components, but tends to be brittle...
or you can do what I did and go to autozone and just buy the piping and the rubber fittings with the clamps... you can buy the universal stuff in different colors in different bends and shapes... I sprayed over mine with ceramic paint...
or hell, you could just use the stock intake tubing and throw a cone air filter on the end of it... sure it's got more bends then it should have and won't flow as well as straight piping, but it will flow better than the stock box....
to be completely honest though, even the stock stuff is receiving cold air, just has to jump through allot of hoops to get to your engine...

PVC is either 3 or 4 inch diameter. You'll need at least 4 feet of straight pipe. 1 90 degree elbow and 1 45 degree. 1 container of pvc glue. 1 cone air filter. Optional spray paint.
