2.8 project

i have a 89 complete 2.8 to start with but i want to rebuild it with a little something extra ive found a set of aluminum 3.1 heads with a valve job and ive been given 3 sets of 2.8 pistons 2 9:1 and 1 set of 12:1 compression but there are so many directions i can go between turbos and high compression and engines (have a few 350s and a 400) but i would like to keep my v6 for some reason so does anyone have some input on a direction

Re: 2.8 project

I would look at the stickies if you haven't already...this one in particular --> LINK

I assume you have a set of FWD heads...and its not just as easy as slapping them on your 2.8. Im also not really sure how the 2.8 pistons will go with the FWD heads. I cant remember, at this junction, if the 2.8 pistons have a deeper dish that the 3.1...but I know that stock 3.1 pistons with FWD heads throws the CR threw the roof...so to speak.

Any pictures of the heads in question?

Re: 2.8 project

For my project I am using the 3x00 heads with custom forged pistons. And unfortunately Its not running yet...The guy who that's fixing the rust and painting my car is taking his sweet old time But I "should" have everything for when I drop the engine in.

Re: 2.8 project

ive found a gta near by for 1500 but idk ive put countless hours into mine and would swap the tpi 305 for a 350 so its really not worth it so im back to the v6 modding ... anyway in order to make those heads work i need a 3.1 intake?? and will it all be plug and play?
