engine dead cylinder

Ok so i have been doing some work on my 3.1l v6 and its almost ready for the roads but the only problem is its running on 5 cylinders the number 1 cylinder is dead the plug wire at the cap has 17-18 kV down closer to the plug the wire on has 12-13 kV which means the wire is still doing its job. but i wasnt sure were to start to illiminate the problem. i think im going to start with the plug and see if the gap is wrong causing the wire to illiminate some of the voltage. can i get some other ideas to try to illiminate this dead cylinder.

Re: engine dead cylinder

i would just change the plug. it could be cracked or the electrode could be burnt off.

i had a simmilar situation a few weeks ago. found the electrode burnt off on nr. 1 plug.
chnaged the plugs and wires and reset the timing. fixed now.
