Replacing Oil Pump
Replacing Oil Pump
I am going to be replacing my oil pan and I was thinking while I was in there I would replace the oil pump and pickup. The oil pan is smashed pretty good and I wonder if it may of bent the pickup.
Anyway, what goes into replacing the oil pump? Mostly I am worried about installing the pickup properly so I know I have clearance, etc. From what I've read it's pretty simple, but sometimes pretty simple isn't so simple, as they mention nothing about the pickup.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Douglas

Re: Replacing Oil Pump
Its pretty straight forward. Pull the pan, pull the dizzy, throw your new pump assy in, and throw it back together. The pan is a PITA to get out. I had to disconnect my exhaust and lift the engine a good few inches to get the pan out from around the pickup and crossmember.
