2.8 wont start
2.8 wont start
Ok i finally got my car running and all was good until i slapped the gas to the floor.
Then it just died like it ran outta gas. I put more in it and it still wont start. The car hasnt ran in a little over 2 years now i think. So far we have replaced the Spark Plugs, the TPS, fuel pump, intake gaskets, injector o rings, and valve cover gaskets. Any sugjustions would be appreciated.

Check to be sure that your timing chain didn't break or slip a few teeth.
Also, have you checked to be sure that you're getting spark? Cap & rotor on the distributor? Base ignition timing sure to be correct?
Have you tested to be sure that you have adequate fuel pressure at the fuel rail?
What condition is all of the wiring in?

Did you take the dizzy out? make sure it was placed back in the original position you took it out of if you did indeed take it out, check your timing, make sure all the spark plug wires match the corisponding cylinder, I wouldn't start tearing at the engine just yet do the common checks, check for spark, timing, plug wires, and make sure everything you took off went back the way it was tooken off. If you tear to the timing chain you might as well buy a new one and replace it as it isn't very expensive same for the waterpump gaskets etc, try rockauto.com good cheap site takes about 2 days shipping, unless your in a rush then just go to your local autoparts store.

Distrubutor, and go ahead try to clear the codes pull the neg terminal on the battery for a quick minute, also check the fuses by above the vapor canister why your at it, there on the right fender inside next to the antifreeze resevoir but on some cars there on the left fender look for 2 black boxes that look like electrical plugs they contain fuses.

When you replaced the injector o-rings did you check to see if you have at least 12 ohms in each injector. One bad injector will keep it from starting. I have a 3.1 and had the very same thing happen to me that you described. I purchased a complete set of injector from autopartswarehouse.com for $205.00 plus core charge.
