Help with improving ET
ok so in two days im going to the race track, the last time i went i ran 17.095. so my question is is there anything i can take out of my car that is unnecessary (i already did the AC) or is there any kind of really quick upgrade from the local parts store or any kind of additive to make me get me under 17s?
thanks
ive already got an intake exhaust and UD pulleys

gut some weight out of her....take out rear seats...rear plastics and carpet...passenger seat...that is easy to do for faster times. Its not going to give you a second faster or anything but it WILL help. If your really getting into racing a suspension is a HUGE factor. Doesn't matter how much power your make if you cant get it to hook up your not going anywhere fast. I dont want to get into huge details but doing some suspension stuff will definitely help the car launch better. Also look into lighter wheels and some decent slicks. As you should already know the key to drag racing is making the lightest most powerful vehicle you can while getting all that power to hook up and go straight. You seem like your off to a good start.
Good luck and Happy Tuning.

take off the front sway bar and wonder bar. It may be enough to get you under 17's A front sway bar has no place being at a drag race

1/4 tank of gas or less.
Pull all seats except drivers (obviously).
Front tires to 35+ psi, rear at 30~ish and experiment from there.
Advance timing.
TB bypass.
Throw a bag of ice on the intake manifold for 20 min before your run.
Before leaving for the track, poop.

That last one is important, can drop a good 2-5 pounds, maybe more.
Anywho, I think these guys covered pretty much everything to do that's quick and cheap (minus the suspension work).
Unless you have time, start working on the internals, replace old parts, rebuild the motor. Get it as clean as possible, and use the best oil and tranny fluid for less friction. That alone will free up some torque. Are you running a 700r4 or T-5? Get a dual-friction clutch, or better stall. Could even put in better gears, although the 3.42s are nice stock.
