aight i took it to the tranny shop and they said its running terrible and that they things a cylinder is missing...what does this mean...and im sure its something serious...is this fixable...also is it hard to do if it is fixable...thnx for any help

 

One of the cylinders fell off. Now you have a v5.

It could be something serious, but it is probably something dumb and cheap like a worn out spark plug cable.

no but seriosly, its proably just a fouled plug or like he said a bad wire.. put some new plugs and wires on it and see how she runs after.

 

heh i already did when i did a tune up unless one didnt get screwed in all the way or one of the plug wire arent on all the way but im pretty dam sure they were...when i go and pick it up ill double check

 

Well i talked to my bros buddy that works there and they are replacing the pcv thing and the air filter gasket would either of those have something to do with it?

believe those were the 2 things

 

They're saying a cylinder isn't firing.
Double check that the wires are in the right place & double check they are on the right plugs.
I recently learned from TGO that the right plugs are important too.The length & reach of the electrode varies--double check you have the right plugs.
If you have TPI,maybe an injector got plugged or even quit working.
Wouldn't hurt to get new PCV & airfilter.While you're at it,check vacuum lines too.
Just a few thoughts

 

they gave me the right wires but when i replaced them i asked if the wire length matterd and never got a respone so i dont believe when i put the new 1s on the same length 1s didnt replace the others anyway to tell where the lengthed 1s go.....If i am understanding u correctly

 

an air filter and PCV valve are highly unlikely to be your problem. you could have a problem w/ your plugs or wires as stated or you could have a bad distributor cap, fuel injector issue, or possibly something worse. id say double check your plugs and wires, make sure theyre all connected properly both at the plug and the cap. if theyre good there, then check the dist cap, see if theres any corrosion or a crack or anything like that. start w/ that stuff.

 

aight well i can replace the distrib cap right away and the thing inside the distb cap i got them both just havent had a chance to swap out yet

 

alright so i called in today to see what was taking so long and its not the air filter gasket it was the intake gasket...said something about losing vacuum pressure and its only running on 3 cyls is this correct in what hes saying? something along that mumbo jumbo

 

Vacuum leaks cause problems--low power,stumbling,sounds like a "miss"--
Some people can do the job quick ( 1/2 a day ),some people take most if not all day.
Keep in mind if you replace plug wires again in the future--
do 1 at a time & compare the length. Pick the new wire that is closest in length to the old wire-a 1/4 inch longer is ok but careful if it's shorter.You may have to test fit as you go on some of them.
Longer wires go to the furthest reaches,shorter wires to the shorter reaches.

aight the tranny is fixed and the intake gasket is fixed but now when its in park for awhile or in drive and im going real slow the rpm gauge goes from like 100 to 700ish i wanna say and it wants to die any idea wat this could be

 

oh and he said that the erg valve or watever it is was bad but would that cause it to do that
