Axle/Gears: 3.73
So I sprayed my EGR...

So im lookin for a vac leak on my 3.1 v6 92 camaro,and i hit a spot on the base of my digital egr with some starting fluid and my idle changed(i got a leak)..question is how much effect is leaking blow-by gasses is on an engine on the open road or idle,,thanx guys

WELL.... its not the leaking gases thats really the problem inless your a tree huger.


If you have a vacuum leak it will cause performance problems though.

Actually i have a rough idle and the car jerks while cruising..im thinkin maybe i need to rebuild my distributor..i know the module checks good(cold at least).From what i remember the pick up coil had corrosion on it,could be causing a whole lot of problems,plugs n wires are a few months old...so...not lookin forward to it since i never rebuilt it before.

Plugs/wires shouldn't be an issue unless you've fouled the plugs from being overly rich. Fix the vac problem.

i checked the plugs and they are perfect color,i replaced my dizzy cap n rotor,the rotor seemed to have cut into the posts inside the cap,I should have replaced ths icm with a good 1 i had but didnt,,i the car didnt drag to start this time like it had been so i will see what happens when it gets hot and in a few days of runnin.
